Alcoguard















































INTRODUCTION
- Read through all of the instructions before starting installation.
- Notifications and warning texts are for your safety and to minimize the risk of something breaking during installation.
- Ensure that all tools stated in the instructions are available before starting installation.
- Certain steps in the instructions are only presented in the form of images. Explanatory text is also given for more complicated steps.
- In the event of any problems with the instructions or the accessory, contact your local Volvo dealer.






Alcoguard

Note! The cradle for the alcohol lock can be positioned either on the thin rubber mat in front of the centre console or on the left hand side of the rear edge of the storage compartment under the armrest in the tunnel console.The thin rubber mat must be purchased separately for cars with the thicker mat.The work is carried out the same way on left and right-hand drive cars, but mirrored on right-hand drive cars. Left-hand drive car shown.





- Activate (and calibrate) the alcohol lock according to the description in the Technical Journal in TIE. Relevant journal is TJ 19265 "Alcoguard, calibration and activation Software". It also contains the necessary software.
- After installing the software on the PC according to TJ, connect the alcohol lock to the PC using the communication cable.





- Turn the ignition switch to position 0.

Note! Wait at least three minutes before unplugging the connectors or removing other electrical equipment.





- Remove the side panels on both sides. They are secured by six clips on the inside.














- Disconnect the lighting connector and place the panel to one side.










- Carefully pry off the glovebox lighting.





- Disconnect the connector from the lamp in the glove box lighting, it may be tight.





- Remove the six screws.
- If necessary remove the connector for the SIM card holder.
- Pull the glove box out one position so that the clips release.
- Remove the glovebox.

Note! The thin rubber mat must be purchased for cars with the thicker rubber mat. The thick rubber mat must be discarded.





- Remove the double sided tape. It must not be used again.





- Cut off the rubber tab.





- Drill out the hole.





- Cut the mat.





- Disconnect the clips with cable (certain models) and reroute the cable so that it is not in the way of drilling. Check that nothing else obstructs the drilling.





- Position the rubber mat and pre-drill the hole through the tunnel console in the centre of the hole in the rubber mat.
- Remove the rubber mat.





- Drill out and remove swarf.





- Position the cradle centered on the rubber mat as illustrated. The left end of the cradle must be edge to edge with the inner edge of the rubber mat.
- Drill out the holes.





- Position the rubber mat.
- Drill through the hole in the rubber mat and through the tunnel console.
- Remove the rubber mat.
- Remove any swarf.





- Position the holder on the rubber mat and screw in the screws.





- Position the cable in its cut out.

- Insert the cable into the hole in the tunnel console. Position the cradle with the rubber mat and tighten. Take care when tightening the screws and do not overtighten.









- Pull the cable forward under the mat, and allow part of it to hang outside.

- Use tape to protect the tunnel console.
