Warning message in event of low battery voltage

Warning message in event of low battery voltage
There are two messages in the driver information module (DIM) that warn of low battery voltage.
- Warning 1: "Low battery"
- Warning 2: "Low battery power save mode"
The central electronic module (CEM) monitors battery voltage and sends a message via the CAN network in the event of low battery voltage to the driver information module (DIM) that shows the warning message.

For vehicles with battery monitoring module (BMS), the following applies:
Warning 1: The message "Low battery" is shown if one of the following occurs:
- Key out or ignition position 0, the infotainment system is on and the battery's state of charge (SOC) is less than 60% for more than 30 seconds.
- Ignition position I or II and the battery's state of charge (SOC) is less than 60% for more than 30 seconds.
Warning 2: The message "Low battery power save mode" is shown if one of the following occurs:
- Key out or ignition position 0, the infotainment system is on and the battery's state of charge (SOC) is less than 55% for more than 120 seconds after Warning 1 has been shown.
- Ignition position I or II and the battery's state of charge (SOC) is less than 55% for more than 120 seconds after Warning 1 has been shown.
For vehicles without battery monitoring module (BMS), the following applies:
Warning 1: The message "Battery voltage too low" is shown after 400 seconds when the following has occurred:
- The battery voltage is below a limit value which is due to the vehicle's current power consumption. The range is 11.5-12.4 V.
Warning 2: The message "Low battery power save mode" is shown 120 seconds after the first warning when the following has occurred:
- The battery voltage is below a limit value which is due to the vehicle's current power consumption. The range is 11.4-12.3 V.

Note! When the battery's state of charge (SOC) is 60%, the battery voltage is approximately 12 V if the vehicle has been switched off for more than 4 hours. The warnings "Low battery" and "Low battery power save mode" cannot be generated when the engine is switched on.The warning is reset when the engine starts.

Note! For vehicles with battery monitoring module (BMS), the following applies: If the supply to the battery monitoring sensor (BMS) is disconnected and reconnected, the battery's state of charge is set to a default value of 80% until the next calibration. The next calibration is performed when the vehicle has been switched off for at least four hours.
