Component Tests and General Diagnostics

Checking the supply voltage/ground terminal

Differential electronic module (DEM) supplied with voltage via terminal #C1:3.
With the ignition on the control module is supplied with power and therefore active.

Checking the power supply
Check the fuse for the differential electronic module (DEM) in the integrated relay/fusebox in the engine compartment.
If the fuse is blown, check the cable between #C1:3 on the control module and the fuse for a short-circuit to voltage or ground.
If the fuse is intact, check the cable between terminal #C1:3 on the control module and the fuse. Check for an open-circuit.

Ground terminal differential electronic module (DEM)
Check the cable between #C1:7 on the control module and the grounding point for contact resistance, open circuit and short-circuit to voltage.

Checking the ground terminal
Check the ground terminal connection. Check for contact resistance and oxidation.
Remedy as necessary.
