Oil consumption test

Preparation

Change the engine oil Refer to: Engine Oil, B6304T4, B6324S5, B6324S4 Service and Repair

Caution! Make sure that the engine oil is to specification.

Increase the engine speed to 2,500 RPM and maintain for 6 minutes or until the engine has reached normal operating temperature.

Check

Caution! Make sure that the equipment is clean and free from foreign materials.

Weigh an empty receptacle.

Drain the engine oil into the receptacle for exactly 15 minutes.

Weigh the receptacle.

Note the value.

Install Oil plug Refer to: Engine Oil, B6304T4, B6324S5, B6324S4 Service and Repair

Top up the weighed engine oil in the engine.

Weigh the empty receptacle.

Note the value.

Any difference from previous measured weight of empty receptacle is subtracted from the measured oil weight.

Enter any necessary notes on the form.

Fill in form weight of oil Refer to: Weight of oil

Drive the car 1000 km or until the oil level has dropped to minimum on the dipstick.

Weigh the receptacle.

Note the value.

Enter any necessary notes on the form.

Calculate the oil consumption according to the form.

Fill in form weight of oil Refer to: Weight of oil

Restoring

Install Oil plug Refer to: Engine Oil, B6304T4, B6324S5, B6324S4 Service and Repair

Top up the weighed engine oil in the engine.
