Caution!
Perform the following checks to ensure that there are no electrical faults in the lumbar support control module.
- Check that the separate cable that is connected from ground (31/6) in the passenger compartment fusebox (CJB) to the PSM does not have a short-circuit.
- Check the cable between the lumbar support control module and the lumbar support switch for a short circuit and open circuit.
- Check that the lumbar support switch is not defective.
- Check the pin as follows, using the inset circuit diagram, to ensure that the lumbar support control module works.
- Check whether the lumbar support control module is powered by measuring the voltage on pins 3 and 10 (ground) on the connector. Approved range is 9 - 16 V.
- Check whether the lumbar support motor is powered by measuring the voltage on pins 11 and 12 on the connector or by measuring pins 1 and 2 on the lumbar support motor.
- Check whether the lumbar support switch is powered by first measuring the voltage on pins 6 and 21 (ground) and then on pins 7 and 21 (ground) on the connector. The highest, approved value is 1 V.
Remedy as necessary.
Does the problem persist?
Yes - Replacing the control module
No - FAULT FOUND
