Checking the supply voltage/ground terminal

Power supply infotainment control module (ICM)
Infotainment control module (ICM) is powered via two separately fused power inputs. When the ignition is on, the voltage inputs are powered and the control module is in active mode.
1. Voltage input 1 (#C1-8 (#8)) is supplied with voltage via a fuse from the battery. This power input is used to power the memory in the control module. In the event of an open-circuit, the control module will be reset and adaptation values and diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) will disappear.
2. Voltage input 2 (#C1-16 (#16)) is supplied with voltage via a fuse from the battery. This power input is used to power the memory in the control module. In the event of an open-circuit, the control module will be reset and adaptation values and diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) will disappear.

Checking the power supply
Check the power supply cable from the battery to infotainment control module (ICM) terminal #C1-8 (#8) for open circuit, loose connections, contact resistance and oxidation. Check the fuse. Voltage should be about equal to battery voltage.
Check the power supply cable from the battery to infotainment control module (ICM) terminal #C1-16 (#16) for open circuit, loose connections, contact resistance and oxidation. Check the fuse. Voltage should be about equal to battery voltage.

Ground terminal infotainment control module (ICM)
Infotainment control module (ICM) has two ground inputs. See the relevant wiring diagram for further information about the ground terminal.
1. Ground input 1 (#C1-5 (#5)) is power ground and is connected to the frame ground connection in the body.
2. Ground input 2 (#C1-13 (#13)) is power ground and is connected to the frame ground connection in the body.

Checking the ground terminal
Check the ground cable. Check for loose connections, contact resistance and oxidation. Check for an open-circuit. With the ignition on, the drop in voltage between the ground connection for the control module and the ground terminal must not be greater than 0.5 V.
Remedy as necessary.
