Applies to the XC60
Note! In instances where installation kit TMC is to be installed, perform this at the same time.
- Set the ignition key to position 0.
Note! Wait at least one minute before unplugging the connectors or removing other electrical equipment.
- Remove the marked components.
- Remove the screws.
- Remove the marked components.
- Unplug the connector.
- Remove the rubber strip.
- Remove the screw.
- Remove the panel.
- Cut out the discs.
- Place the mounting A over the drilled hole.
- Centre the hole in the mounting (A) opposite the drilled hole in the panel.
- Adjust the mounting so that it is fully against the panel and hold securely.
- Drill out the two holes.
- Carefully drill out the mounting and panel.
- Drill horizontally.
- Remove the screws.
- Adjust the cable length so that the end of the marking is as illustrated.
- Adjust the cable length so that the end of the marking is as illustrated.
Installing holder
Note! Be sure to position the mounting (A) so that it is against the panel.

- Insert the cable harness in the dashboard.
Use tension spring P/N 9512932.

- Reinstall the panel.
Applies to all vehicles
- Remove the panel.
Right-hand drive vehicles
- Applies to both sides.
Applies to the XC60 from and including chassis number 175379-
- Remove the panel.
- Push out the 12V cable.
- Take the cable harness (F) out of the kit and place it on the left hand side of the tunnel console.
- Connect the 12V cable to the female connector on the cable harness.
- Insert the remaining male connector through the hole to where the cup holder was.
- Pull the cable forward inside the carpet for the centre console.
- Cut off the foam, remove the protective tape and wind the foam around the connector and fuse holder.
- Place the foam covered components as illustrated. Ensure that the cables do not come into contact with sharp edges.
Applies to the XC60 up to and including chassis number 175378-
- Use tape to protect the tunnel console.
- Remove the rear end with cover.
- Disconnect the connectors for the 12 V socket and seat heating,.
- Take a piece of curtain wire and insert it in the rear edge of the tunnel console, slide it forward on the left-hand side and out where the left side panel was located.
- Lift up the console at the rear edge to facilitate access.
- Use tension spring P/N 9512932.
- Take the large cable harness from the kit and secure it to the end of the wire using a piece of masking tape.
- Route the cable harness. Raise the tunnel console at the rear edge to facilitate routing the cable harness through.
- Check that the cable harness is not trapped when the tunnel console is positioned.
- Connect the male connector (1) in the new cable harness to the 12 V socket.
- Connect the disconnected connector (2) from the 12 V socket to the female connector (2) in the new cable harness.
- Reconnect the green connector (3).
- Insert the connectors and fuse holder down as far as possible.
- Wrap the connectors and fuse holder with foam tape.
- Position the connectors and fuse holder.

- Route the cable harness from the 12V socket through the centre console.
Use tension spring P/N 9512932.
Applies to right-hand drive vehicles
- Clamp the cable at the existing cable harness. Conceal any overlength cable inside the mat.
Applies to all vehicles
- Connect the small connectors.
- Wrap the connectors in foam tape.
- Clamp the foamed connectors and cable harness and any overlength at the existing cable harness.
Note! Divide the excess evenly, in order not to obstruct the combined instrument panel.
- Install the navigator.
- Reinstall the detached components in reverse order.
