Caution! Avoid touching control module connector pins and associated cable harness connectors. There is risk of electrostatic discharge, which could cause damage in the control module. Discharge yourself and the tools to be used by holding the metal part of the tool and at the same time touch a part of the body immediately before starting to work.
General information
Visually check the connectors to ensure that the male and female terminals are not damaged and that the cables for the female halves are properly connected.
The breakout box is designed for easier reading of:
- control module's output and input signals when the control module is connected.
- leads' and components' resistance, when the control module is disconnected.
Using the breakout box reduces the risk of short-circuiting cables and damaging pins in the connectors.
Connecting the breakout box
- Make sure that the ignition is off.
- Connect the breakout box 951 1428 Breakout box 951 1428 Breakout box and the cable 951 1499 Cable 951 1499 Cable to the adapter 951 3021 POT Adapter 951 3021 POT Adapter.
Integrated Audio Module (IAM)
- Unplug the connectors for the Integrated Audio Module (IAM), see: General audio player module General Audio Player Module
- Connect the adapter 951 3021 POT Adapter 951 3021 POT Adapter for connectors C1 and C2 on the control module.
Note! Before the functions in the control module can be checked and measurements taken, any removed fuses must first be reinstalled.
