- Ignition on.
The diagnostic trouble code is stored if the control module's vehicle configuration does not match the one stored in Central electronic module (CEM). The fault can be due to a customer or workshop replacing a control module without downloading new software for the replacement.
- Load new software to Trailer module (TRM)
If the problem remains after reprogramming Trailer module (TRM):
- Download new software to the central electronic module (CEM).
If the problem remains after reprogramming of Central electronic module (CEM):
- Fault-trace the central electronic module (CEM).
Remedy as necessary.

Hint: After carrying out the repair check that the fault has been remedied.
- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
- If the battery negative lead has been removed:
Connect the battery negative lead.
- Switch on the ignition. Wait 10 seconds.
Read diagnostic trouble codes by clicking the VCT2000 symbol.
If the fault is intermittent, the fault has been remedied.
