Checking communication

When a message is sent from the remote key to the vehicle, it is received by the remote receiver, which in turn, sends the message on to the Keyless vehicle module (KVM).
- Check the communication with the remote receiver by pressing the VCT2000 symbol.

Results
- If the result indicates a short-circuit or open-circuit on the communication cable, the signal cable between the Keyless vehicle module (KVM) and the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) must be checked. If no problems are detected on cables and connectors, and there is voltage feed to Remote Receiver Module (RRX), it is likely that it is an internal error in Remote Receiver Module (RRX).
- If the result shows general communication failure with remote receiver, first check voltage feed and ground connection for remote receiver keyless vehicle (RKE). Then check the communication signal line between keyless vehicle module (KVM) and remote receiver keyless vehicle (RKE) for open circuit or short-circuiting. If no problems are detected on cables and connectors, and there is voltage feed to Remote Keyless Entry (RKE), it is likely that it is an internal error in Remote Keyless Entry (RKE). Try a new remote control. Check the communication with the remote receiver by pressing the VCT2000 symbol. If the result still shows general communication failure, replace keyless vehicle module (KVM).
- If the result indicates that the frequency does not correspond with the vehicle configuration file, the installed remote receiver is probably intended for another vehicle. Check that the remote receiver is intended for this vehicle and replace the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) if not. If the correct remote receiver is installed, download new software to the Central electronic module (CEM).
