Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information ECM-U032200
Condition
To check that the correct software is in the engine control module (ECM), the engine control module (ECM) calculates a checksum. This checksum shall also be stored in the central electronic module (CEM). When the ignition is turned on, a communication test is performed between the engine control module (ECM) and central electronic module (CEM). During this test, the checksum is sent from the engine control module (ECM) to central electronic module (CEM).
If central electronic module (CEM) detects that the checksum that engine control module (ECM) calculates does not match the stored checksum in the central electronic module (CEM), the central electronic module (CEM) will store a diagnostic trouble code. For information purposes, the diagnostic trouble code is also stored in the engine control module (ECM).
The diagnostic trouble code can be diagnosed with the ignition on.
