Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information BCM-U014000
Condition
The control modules in the vehicle send and receive information continuously on the vehicle's controller area network (CAN). Central electronic module (CEM) sends out signals that the Brake control module (BCM) needs for control of functions Collision and brake boost, Adaptive cruise control, as well as City safety.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that:
- Signal from Central electronic module (CEM) is missing.
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:
- Ignition switch position II.
Note! The control module can only detect the fault once the test has been started and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored when the conditions are met.
Substitute value
- None.
Hint: Brake system, abbreviations Brake System, Abbreviations
Possible source
- Fault-trace related to the CAN-net.
- Fault-trace the central electronic module (CEM).
Note! This diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is not due to an internal hardware fault in the Brake control module (BCM) and must not be remedied by replacing the control module.
Fault symptom[s]
- Cruise control/Does not engage
- Brake pedal/Excessive "brake pedal effort" required
- Front monitoring/Active safety/City Safety does not work
