Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information CEM-P165312

Condition
Central electronic module (CEM) sends a frequency-modulated signal to speed-dependent power steering module (HPAS) which is in proportion to the speed signal that the Central electronic module (CEM) receives from the Brake control module (BCM) via the CAN-net. Central electronic module (CEM) also monitors the signal cable to the control module for speed-dependent power steering (HPAS).
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that:
- Voltage on the signal cable is constantly high.
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:
- Ignition switch position II.

Note! The control module can only detect the fault once the test has been started and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored when the conditions are met.

Substitute value
- The function (the output) turns off during the driving cycle when fault is detected. The function (the output) switches off permanently after 100 operating cycles where the fault was detected. Erasing trouble codes as well as start of new driving cycle resets the output.

Possible source
- Short-circuit to supply voltage in the signal cable.

Fault symptom[s]
- Power steering control does not function
