Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information TCM-P096400
Condition
Lock-up solenoid SLU controls the transmission lock-up function. Solenoid SLU works when it receives voltage from the transmission control module (TCM). The solenoid is activated during various driving conditions based on speed, throttle position and set driving program.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that:
- The current through the circuit of solenoid SLU is too low when the solenoid is being activated.
Solenoid SLU cannot then be activated.
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:
- Shifting when the lock-up function is activated.
Note! The control module can only detect the fault once the test has been started and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored when the conditions are met.
Substitute value
- Blocking adaptation.
- Blocking of lock-up function.
Possible source
- Contact resistance in the terminals.
- Open-circuit in the cable for the control signal or signal ground.
- Solenoid does not function.
- Internal fault in the transmission control module (TCM).
Fault symptom[s]
