Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information ECM-P048013

Condition
The engine control module (ECM) continuously monitors the function of the engine cooling fan.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that:
- The signal is missing or incorrect.
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:
- Ignition switch position II.

Note! The control module can only detect the fault once the test has been started and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored when the conditions are met.

- None.

Possible source
- Open circuit on signal line between the engine control module (ECM) and electric cooling fan control module.
- Loose connections in leads.
- Contact resistance in the connectors.
- Damaged engine control module (ECM).

Fault symptom[s]
- Engine cooling/Engine overheats/runs hot
- Temperature control/A/C does not work
