Fault-Tracing Information

Fault tracing

Checking the status

- Ignition on
Check if the malfunction is permanent or intermittent by reading off the signal from the fuel level sensor (via central electronic module (CEM)) and check that it is reasonable, that it moves when the vehicle is rocked lightly and that it then stabilizes at a reasonable level.
Incorrect signal indicates that the malfunction is permanent. If the signal is reasonable, this indicates that the malfunction is intermittent.

Hint: Completely full tank may mean that the level change when rocking the vehicle is not clear enough.
