Condition




The engine control module (ECM) detects a fault in the function of the EVAP valve by analyzing the signal from the pressure sensor in the induction pipe. The diagnostic trouble code is generated if the control module registers that the EVAP valve has seized.
The diagnostic trouble code can be diagnosed during EVAP control.

- Nothing.

Possible source
- The hose between the induction pipe and EVAP valve is broken, clogged or pinched.
- The hose between the EVAP valve and canister is broken, clogged or pinched.
- The EVAP valve is stuck in the open position.
- The EVAP valve is stuck in the closed position.

Fault symptom[s]
- Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) lit.
- Fuel odor.
