Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information ECM-P001200

Condition
The Engine control module (ECM) regulates the camshaft position (angle).
If the control module detects a difference between the requested position and the actual position, the speed is measured as the camshaft moves to the requested position.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that:
- The camshaft moves too slowly (to the early position).
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:
- Hot engine.
- Engine speed above 1000 rpm.
- Camshaft control is active.

Note! The control module can only detect the fault once the test has been started and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored when the conditions are met.

Substitute value
- The camshaft is guided to its home position.

Possible source
- Poor engine oil quality.
- Low oil pressure.
