Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information SAS-C1B0097
Condition
The Steering wheel angle sensor module (SAS) is located in the lever module together with the steering wheel module (SWM) and is supplied with power by it. Only the steering wheel angle sensor module (SAS) communicates on the controller area network (CAN).
There are two magnetic sensors that read off the steering wheel's position. Before the magnetic sensors' signals reach the two processors where current steering wheel angle is calculated, the signals are amplified by four amplifiers. At start-up, the Steering wheel angle sensor module (SAS) checks the amplification, by providing a reference voltage in to the amplifiers, so that they shall amplify equally.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that:
- The amplification between the four amplifiers differs.
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:
- Transfer from ignition position 0 to ignition position II.
Note! The control module can only detect the fault once the test has been started and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored when the conditions are met.
Substitute value
- The control module transmits a message to other nodes on the CAN network that its information is incorrect.
Possible source
- Internal fault in the steering wheel angle sensor module (SAS).
