Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information BCM-C004728

Condition
The vacuum pressure sensor is located in the power brake booster. The pressure sensor is double acting and measures the vacuum pressure between the vacuum chamber and the working chamber in the power brake booster. The signal ratio between the various chambers must correspond with each other.
The vacuum pressure sensor has an offset value (correction value) for the individual deviation. With the ignition off, a calculated offset value is compared to the value that was saved in the previous operating cycle.
A diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects:
- An incorrect offset value.
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:
- Ignition switch position II.

Note! The control module can only detect the fault once the test has been started and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored when the conditions are met.

Substitute value
- None.

Hint: Brake system, abbreviations Brake System, Abbreviations

Possible source
- Open-circuit in signal cable (+).
- Short-circuit to supply voltage in the signal cable.
- The signal cable is short-circuited to ground.
- Damaged vacuum pressure sensor.
- Internal fault in the control module.

Fault symptom[s]
- Information lamp is on
