Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information BCM-C004064

Condition
The stop lamp switch is located by the brake pedal. The switch is affected by the brake pedal's lever during braking. Brake control module (BCM) retrieves brake light switch signal from the CAN-net.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that:
- Braking from above 50 km/h to below 3 km/h three times without brake light switch signal having been active.
- The brake light switch signal has been active for more than 4 minutes.
- The brake pressure increases but the signal for the stoplamp switch does not change when the brake pedal is depressed.
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:
- Speeds above 20 km/h for longer than 6 minutes.

Note! The control module can only detect the fault once the test has been started and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored when the conditions are met.

Substitute value
- None.

Possible source
- Mechanical fault in the stop lamp switch.

Note! This diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is not due to an internal hardware fault in the Brake control module (BCM) and must not be remedied by replacing the control module.

Fault symptom[s]
None.
