Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information CEM-B11DB96

Condition
The central electronic module (CEM) monitors the battery monitoring sensor (BMS) and its associated functionality. The battery monitoring sensor's (BMS) main function is to monitor the battery' status. The sensor measures and calculates information about battery voltage, current (in or out from battery), calculated battery capacity, the vehicle's standby current consumption, and battery temperature. This information is sent to the central electronic module (CEM) which then calculates how the alternator shall be controlled for optimal battery charging.
The diagnostic trouble code is generated if the control module detects:
- Hardware failure on the battery monitoring sensor (BMS).
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:
- Engine running.

Note! The control module can only detect the fault once the test has been started and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored when the conditions are met.
