Checking the wiring




- Ignition off.
Check the cable for activation of voltage feed to Steering column lock module (SCL) from Driver information module (DIM) for short-circuiting to voltage.
Check the cable for voltage feed to Steering column lock module (SCL) from Central electronic module (CEM) for short-circuiting to voltage.
Remedy the cables as necessary.

Was a fault detected?

Yes - Verification

No - Replacing the control module

- Ignition off.
If no other fault has been found, there is probably an internal fault in the steering column lock module (SCL). The control module must therefore be replaced.

Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.








- Ignition off
- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
Check the operation of the steering column lock by inserting the remote key in the ignition. The steering column lock must be unlocked. It must be possible to turn the steering wheel.

Can the steering wheel be turned?

Yes - VERIFIED

No - VERIFICATION FAILED
