Checking components and wiring
- Ignition off
Check the fuse for the signal cable from the ignition lock. If the fuse has blown, check the cable. Check for a short-circuit to ground.
Disconnect the engine control module (ECM).
Check the signal cable from the ignition lock. Check for a short-circuit to supply. Check for an open-circuit.
Measure between:
- Engine control module (ECM) terminal #B17 and the central electronic module (CEM).
Remedy as necessary.

- Reconnect the connectors, components, etc.
- Run the starter motor/start the engine.
- Read off the status from the ignition lock.
Check that the read off status from the ignition lock corresponds to the actual position of the ignition lock.
