DESCRIPTION:
If a customer has purchased their vehicle through Overseas Delivery with European (EU) maps installed, and wishes to convert to US/North American maps, a special activation code must be obtained to activate the US map set.
The code retrieved via the Navteq website will not be accepted by Sensus. This is because when the customer elects to have the European map set installed at the factory, the VIN is registered with Navteq as a European vehicle. Therefore, any activation code generated will be for a European map set.
Please follow the instructions under SERVICE to convert a vehicle from European to US maps.
SERVICE:
Using VIDA, download and install the RTI EU to US application:
S60/XC60: SP 31357691
S80/XC70: SP 31357692
Install the latest North American map set according to TJ 26064. The system will prompt for an activation code to begin the map installation.
In order to obtain the correct activation code, please submit a THD Vehicle Report in TIE requesting an activation code. Please specify that the vehicle is from Overseas Delivery. Use function group 3900.
Once the activation code is entered, the map loading process will continue normally as described in TJ 26064.
Important Note for Customer Satisfaction:
Activation codes for these unique situations must be specially requested by VCNA from Navteq Europe.
Due to the time zone difference, there may be a 24 to 48 hour turnaround time (weekends not included) to retrieve the code depending on when it is requested, so please inform the customer accordingly.
