Drive shaft right, replacing
Warning! Do not use magnets or magnetic tools close to tooth wheels, drive shafts or wheel hubs. A magnetized tooth wheel will lose its function and generate incorrect signals resulting in fault codes.
Note! Any magnetized tooth wheel, drive shaft or wheel hub must be replaced with a new component.
Removal
Measure the position of the wheel spindle/spring strut. See: Wheel knuckle / spring strut, calibrating Service and Repair.
Leave the lower screw in place.

Use: 999 7251 Press tool 999 7251 Press Tool and 951 2923 Hydraulic hole cylinder 951 2923 Hydraulic Hole Cylinder.
Remove the drive shaft.
Note! Pull the constant velocity joint, not the drive shaft joints, when removing the drive shaft. There are no axial stops.
Note! Do not damage the drive shaft seal.
Installation

Lubricate the drive shaft sealing surface.
Use oil.
Use new screws and nuts.
Adjust the position of the wheel spindle/spring strut. See: Wheel knuckle / spring strut, calibrating Service and Repair.
