Climate control unit rear, replacing

Preparations
Read the safety precautions for handling refrigerant. See Refrigerant, safety regulations Refrigerant, Safety Regulations.
Drain the refrigerant from the system. See Refrigerant, draining Refrigerant, Draining.
Remove the left-hand side panel in the cargo compartment. See Side panel cargo compartment, replacement Side Panel, Cargo Compartment, Replacing.
Note! Always plug the pipes and connections when working on the climate control system.
Removing the rear climate control unit
Remove:
- the nut on the junction block for the air conditioning (A/C) pipes to the expansion valve
- the drain hose at the bottom edge of the heater unit
- the connector
- the 3 screws (see the illustration).
Installing the rear climate control unit
Note! For tightening torques, see Tightening torque [1][2]Body and Frame.
Position the heater.
Install:
- the 3 screws
- the connector
- the drain hose
- the air conditioning (A/C) pipes and the junction block against the expansion valve. Use 1 nut. Tighten. See Tightening torque [1][2]Body and Frame.
Vacuum pump the air conditioning (A/C) system. See Vacuum pumping Vacuum Pumping.
Fill the air conditioning (A/C) system with refrigerant. See Refrigerant, filling Refrigerant, Filling.
Leak trace the air conditioning (A/C) system. See Leak tracing, fluorescent tracing agent / UV lamp Leak Tracing, Fluorescent Tracing Agent/UV Lamp.
Install the left-hand side panel in the cargo compartment. See Side panel cargo compartment, replacement Side Panel, Cargo Compartment, Replacing.
