Cool box/armrest components, replacing

Preparatory work

Cool box and armrest variants
Cool box and armrest with DVD player. Has a new heavier duty hinge to allow for the DVD player as well as a unique cover.
Cool box and armrest without DVD player. Has a standard hinge and standard cover with an additional seal.
Ignition off.

Removing the cool box and armrest





Note! Note the position of the connectors. Disconnect the connectors.

Remove the 2 screws (1). Press in the catches on both sides (may be stiff). Pull the armrest backwards (2).

Installing the cool box and armrest

Install:
- the connectors
- slide the armrest in. Press the armrest into place
- the 2 screws. Tighten.

Outer cover

Removing the outer cover




Open the cover fully.

Remove:
- the 4 screws
- the cover.

Installing the outer cover

Install:
- the cover
- the 4 screws. Tighten.

Cover over the opening handle

Removing the cover over the opening handle




Remove the outer cover. See: Center console, replacing Service and Repair. Press the hinge shaft out towards the side (1). Release the handle.

Installing the cover over the opening handle
Install the handle. Press the hinge shaft into place. Install the outer cover. See: Center console, replacing Service and Repair.

Adapter plate

Removing the adapter plate





Remove:
- the outer cover. See: Center console, replacing Service and Repair
- The DVD player. See: DVD player, replacing Service and Repair
- the opening handle. See: Cover over the opening handle
- the upper cover for the hinge. Lift the adapter plate to the upper position.





Remove:
- the 2 screws (1)
- the screw for the inner cover (2).





Note! Note the position for the grooves in the sides of the hinges facing the rotation shaft.

Pull the sides off the hinges.




Release the lover cover for the hinge. Cut off the tie strap for the cable harness. Slide out the cable harness (1).

Installing the adapter plate

Install:
- thread the cable harness into place
- the 2 tie straps for the cable harness
- the lower cover for the hinge
Note! Position of the hinge sides in relation to the rotation shaft.

- the 2 screws for the hinge mounting
