Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information SAS-U030000
Condition
The Steering Angle Sensor (SAS) is located in the Steering Wheel Module (SWM) from which it is supplied with power. It is however only the Steering Angle Sensor which communicates on the Control Area Network (CAN).
The control module compares its configuration ID with the signal configuration which the Central Electronic Module (CEM) transmits on the Control Area Network (CAN). If the IDs are incompatible then the trouble code is set. The trouble code is also set if the communication between the Steering Angle Sensor (SAS) and the Central Electronic Module (CEM) is interrupted.
Note! In the event of a communication failure in both CAN leads, it is not possible to communicate with the control module. Therefore it will only be possible to read off the fault if it is intermittent. When the trouble code is set, the control module will respond to a diagnostic command but the normal CAN communication does not function (Expulsion mode).
Substitute value
- Nothing.
Possible source
- Incorrect CAN configuration ID (the control module is not intended for this vehicle, e.g. it is a second-hand control module with a different software/hardware).
- Break in the CAN leads between the control module and the Central Electronic Module (CEM).
- Incorrect programme version.
Fault symptom[s]
- Nothing.
