Signal missing
Checking the component and wiring
- Switch off the ignition. Wait 10 seconds
- Disconnect the 10-pin connector from the occupant weight sensor (OWS) module
- Disconnect the connector from the seat belt force sensor.
Caution! Avoid touching the terminal pins in the occupant weight sensor (OWS). There is a risk of static discharge which could damage the occupant weight sensor (OWS).
Check the connectors for the seat belt force sensor and the occupant weight sensor (OWS) module. Check for damage to pins and terminals in the connectors.
Remedy as necessary.
Check the wiring between the occupant weight sensor (OWS) module and the seat belt force sensor. Check for an open-circuit.
Remedy as necessary.
If no malfunction is found: Replace the seat belt force limiter.
