Condition




The Steering Angle Sensor (SAS) is located in the Steering Wheel Module (SWM) from which it is supplied with power. It is however only the Steering Angle Sensor which communicates on the Control Area Network (CAN).
The Steering Angle Sensor (SAS) incorporates two processors which work together. The processors receive information such as steering angle, steering direction and angle change rate from the angle sensor and then mutually compare this information. If one of the processors registers that the other processor demands information more often than expected, the trouble code is set.
