Condition




The Steering Angle Sensor (SAS) is located in the Steering Wheel Module (SWM) from which it is supplied with power. It is however only the Steering Angle Sensor which communicates on the Control Area Network (CAN).
If there is no voltage supply (12V) or ground connection to the Steering Angle Sensor (SAS) the trouble code is set.
The trouble code may be diagnosed when the ignition is on and the angle sensor is initiated. The sensor is initiated by the steering wheel being turned by more than 4.5° in either direction.

Substitute value
- The stability function is blocked.

Possible source
- Open circuit in the voltage supply circuit for the Steering Angle Sensor (SAS).
- Open circuit in the ground connection for the Steering Angle Sensor (SAS).

Fault symptom[s]
- The anti-spin warning lamp is illuminated.
- General warning lamp lit
- The stability function is not working.
