Description of Parameters
Description of parameters
Parameters, status
Note! The parameters that can be read off are determined by the systems with which the vehicle is equipped.
Brake pedal
The value indicates the status of the stop lamp switch. The engine control module (ECM) sends a signal on the controller area network (CAN) about the position of the stop lamp switch: activated or not activated.
Active = Brake light switch actuated
Not active = Stop lamp switch not affected
Parking brake
The value indicates the position of the parking brake.
Active = Parking brake actuated
Not Active = Parking brake not applied
Trailer contact connected
The value indicates if the trailer is connected to the vehicle.
The differential electronic module (DEM) obtains the value via the control area network (CAN) from the central electronic module (CEM).
The trailer module (TRM) informs the central electronic module (CEM).
Yes = Trailer connected.
No = Trailer not connected.
DEM status
The value indicates the status of the differential electronic module (DEM) (software related).
OK = AOC unit (coupling) is operating normally.
Coupling fully open upon request = AOC unit (coupling) fully open (requested from Brake Control Module (BCM))
Coupling inactive or faulty (open) = AOC unit (coupling) is open due to a fault in the system.
Coupling closed = AOC unit (coupling) is closed due to a fault in the system.
Clutch overheated = Active on Demand Coupling overheated.
Clutch overheated (open) = the Active on Demand Coupling unit (clutch) is open due to overheating. No torque transferred to the rear axle.
The clutch completely locked on request = Active on Demand Coupling unit (clutch) completely locked (request from the brake control module (BCM)). Maximum torque transferred to the rear axle.
ABS status
The value indicates the status of ABS control. The differential electronic module (DEM) obtains the value via the control area network (CAN) from the brake control module (BCM).
Active = ABS modulation
Inactive = No ABS modulation
AOC status
The value specifies which status the AOC unit has (coupling). The Differential Electronic Module (DEM) obtains the signal from the Brake Control Module (BCM). The signal is used for deactivating the AOC unit during special driving conditions.
Normal operation = Request from the Brake Control Module (BCM) for the AOC unit (coupling) to operate normally.
Rapid opening = Request from the Brake Control Module (BCM) for the AOC unit (coupling) to open quickly.
Slow opening = Request from the Brake Control Module (BCM) for the AOC unit (coupling) to open slowly.
Error in BCM = An error has occurred in the Brake Control Module (BCM) which means that the Differential Electronic Module (DEM) opens the AOC unit (coupling).
Completely locked = Request from the brake control module (BCM) that the Active on Demand Coupling unit (clutch) should lock completely (maximum torque to the rear axle).
Torque limiting = Request from the brake control module (BCM) that the Active on Demand Coupling unit should limit the torque to the rear axle.
Parameters, value
Power supply, Differential Electronic Module (DEM)
The value indicates the power supply to the Differential Electronic Module (DEM).
Measurement range: 0 - 25.5 V
Normal range: 12.0 - 14.5 V
MECU power supply
The value indicates the voltage over the Central Electronic Module (CEM).
The control module transmits the signal on the controller area network (CAN) and the Differential Electronic Module (DEM) uses the signal to diagnose the power supply.
Measurement range: 0-63.75 V
Normal range: 12.0 - 14.5 V
Power supply, pump motor
The value indicates the supply through the electrically driven feed pump.
Measurement range 0 - 8191 mA.
Power supply, pressure reducing valve
The value displays the current through the pressure reducing valve.
Measurement range 0 - 4095 mA.
Wheel speed
The value indicates wheel speed.
The brake control module (BCM) transmits the vehicle speed signal on the controller area network (CAN) and the differential electronic module (DEM) uses the signal to control four wheel drive.
Measurement range: 0 - 255 km/h.
ECU-temperature
The value shows the temperature in Differential electronic module (DEM). The temperature sensor is located on the circuit board.
Engine speed (RPM)
The value indicates the engine's speed. The Differential Electronic Module (DEM) obtains the value via the controller area network (CAN) from the Engine Control Module (ECM).
Idle speed: approx. 750 r/min.
Measurement range: 0-8191 r/min.
Calculated front wheel drive torque
The value indicates one engine control module (ECM) calculated torque, supplied to the Active on Demand Coupling input shaft (propeller shaft). Calculation includes the gear ratio of the transmission and the final drive. The differential electronic module (DEM) obtains the value via the controller area network (CAN) from the engine control module (ECM).
Measurement range: -16.376 Nm to +16.384 Nm.
Rear axle torque
The value indicates the torque transferred to the rear axle, calculated by the AOC unit (coupling).
Measurement range: 0 - 8191 Nm.
Requested rear axle torque
The value indicates one brake control module (BCM) requested maximum rear axle torque. The differential electronic module (DEM) uses this information to correctly transfer torque to the rear axle. Also see the "Rear axle torque" parameter.
Measurement range: 0 - 8191 Nm.
Requested front wheel drive torque
The value indicates the requested engine torque of the driver. The differential electronic module (DEM) uses this information to correctly transfer torque to the rear axle.
Measurement range: -16.376 Nm to +16.375 Nm.
