Electrical socket, cargo compartment
INTRODUCTION
- Read through all of the instructions before starting installation.
- Notifications and warning texts are for your safety and to minimize the risk of something breaking during installation.
- Ensure that all tools stated in the instructions are available before starting installation.
- Certain steps in the instructions are only presented in the form of images. Explanatory text is also given for more complicated steps.
- In the event of any problems with the instructions or the accessory, contact your local Volvo dealer.
Electrical socket, cargo compartment
- Remove the seat cushion by pulling it up at the front edge on both sides. It is secured by two holders on the lower side.
- Fold the right-hand backrest forward.
- Remove the left side cushion by pulling the upper edge backwards until the hooks (1) release. Then pull the cushion inwards slightly so that the hook (2) releases and then pull upwards until the locating pin (3) unhooks from the mounting at the lower edge.
- Detach the C-pillar panel at the lower edge by prying out the lower edge until the two clips release. Angle out the lower edge of the panel and then unhook the upper edge.
- Remove the headlining panel by first pulling the rear edge downward so that the four clips release. Then unhook the front edge.
- Remove the smaller headlining panel by pulling it laterally so that the two hooks release. Then unhook the front edge of the panel.
- Remove the cargo compartment floor.
- Fold out the two loading eyelets on the side panel.
- Insert tool 99905919 into the holes on the upper edge of the cover. Turn the tool and pull off the cover.
- Remove the screws for the loading eyelets.
- Slacken off the two screws on the sill panel.
- Remove the sill panel by pulling it straight up so that the six clips release.
- Remove the screw (1).
- Remove the right-hand side panel by detaching and angling out the upper edge.
- Find the embossing on the reverse of the panel.
- Measure and mark the centre of the embossing using a scriber.
- Pre-drill using a - 3 mm (1/8") bit.
- Drill out the hole. Use a -27 mm (1 1/16") diameter hole saw.
- File out the hole with a round and square file as illustrated.
- Remove any swarf.
- Take the electrical socket from the kit. Install and tighten the electrical socket using the nut on the rear.
- Remove the two clips and fold the insulation to one side.
- Locate and disconnect the 2 pin connector which is taped to the car's cable harness.
- Fold the insulation back. At the same time insert the cable harness through the slit at the upper edge of the insulation.
- Reinstall the clips.
- Reinstall the side panel. At the same time connect the cable harness to the socket.
- Tighten the screws for the loading eyelets to 24 Nm (17.7 lbf.ft).
- Install the covers.
Reinstall:
- headlining panels
- the sill trim panel
- the floor hatch
- the C-pillar panel
- the side cushion.
- Reinstall the seat cushion and backrest.
