DESCRIPTION:
On a turbocharged Short-Inline 6 cylinder (Si6-T) engine, there is a check valve on the cylinder head that prevents boost pressure from entering the crankcase system. This valve is adjacent to the intake port of cylinder 6. See photos in the attachment. If the exchange cylinder head is missing this valve, a new check valve must be installed on the exchange cylinder head upon replacement.
PRODUCT MODIFICATION:
Under investigation
SERVICE:
If the exchange cylinder head is missing this valve, a new check valve must be installed on the exchange head upon replacement. Install the valve using an 8mm hex bit and torque to 42 Nm. Aside from this step, the cylinder head replacement procedure in VIDA must be followed.
This shall be done until further notice. If the exchange cylinder head has the valve already installed, there is no need to install a new one.
The part is called "Hollow screw" in the parts catalog for function group 211 in VIDA. The part number can be found there.
VSTG OPERATION NUMBER:
Do not add any labor time for this. Only the cylinder head replacement operation should be used.
