Running board































INTRODUCTION
- Read through all of the instructions before starting installation.
- Notifications and warning texts are for your safety and to minimize the risk of something breaking during installation.
- Ensure that all tools stated in the instructions are available before starting installation.
- Certain steps in the instructions are only presented in the form of images. Explanatory text is also given for more complicated steps.
- In the event of any problems with the instructions or the accessory, contact your local Volvo dealer.






Running board

Note! Some steps in these installation instructions are presented with illustration only.

Preparations





- Turn the ignition switch to position 0.

Note! Wait at least three minutes before unplugging the connectors or removing other electrical equipment.











Removal of rear door

- Carefully depress the catch on the connector in the door and pull off.
- Remove the screws for the door stop.

- Remove the screws in the upper and lower hinge.





- Lift off the door with a colleague.
- Place the door out of harms way.

Removal of the sill panel.




- Pull off the sill panel at the rear edge, it is secured by six clips.





- Detach the rubber strip from the panel up to the front of the seven clips.





- Insert a small flat head screwdriver in the hole in the clip. Press so that the catches on the inside are pressed together and the upper edge of the panel can be prized off.
- Carefully pry off the panel at the front and rear edge. It is secured by a clip at each end.
- Remove the panel with the rubber strip.
- Unhook the rubber strip from the panel.





- Remove all clips (8 pcs on each side) from the sill, and at the front and rear wing, and replace with new ones.





- Remove the front end of the panel. The end must be reused.
The panel will not be reused.





- Take the front end of the panel and replace the old clips with new ones from the kit.





- Saw off 30 mm (1 3/16" ) from the upper baffle in the front sill panel.
- File down the edges.

Installation





- Take the running board from the kit. Install the front end on the running board.





- Take the clips from the kit and press them onto the running board.





- Press the existing rubber strip onto the running board.





- Take four rivet nuts from the kit and tighten in the drilled holes in the sill. Use tool 9512782.

Note! Rivet in the upper hole of the two adjacent holes for the rear mounting hole.






Note! Two people are needed for the following three steps.

- Take the bracket from the kit and install on the sill. Tightening torque 50 Nm (37 lbf.ft.).





- Hang the running board on the attached bracket.
- Align the locating pins in the front and rear end.
- Align all clips in their holes on top and press securely. Ensure that all nine clips engage.





- Press the lower section of the running board with clips in the sill. Ensure that all six clips engage.
