DESCRIPTION: This TJ describes the support for external media (AUX, CD, iPod and USB) in the IAM.

PRODUCT MODIFICATION: The below CD, iPod and USB support specification is valid for all IAM's with USB support. The below AUX support specification is valid for all IAM's with AUX input.

TECHNICAL REPORT: Yes, please submit a vehicle report if a problem with the support from external media would occur even if the equipment is within the below specification for supported media.

SERVICE:
iPod Support

See attached file "TJ22530 iPod compatibility v3.pdf" for iPod playability.

If the IAM could not detect the iPhone once it is upgraded with iPhone OS 4.0, it may be solved by a full reset of the iPhone:

- Press and keep Home button + Power button pressed until the iPhone reboots by itself.

- Then, connect the iPhone to the vehicle USB.

** NOTE:
The IAM can not detect the iPod Touch / iPhone when it has been upgraded to iOS 4.2.1. The symptom has been addressed to Apple for a solution within their iOS.

Apple has now released the official iOS 4.3 that is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod Touch 3:rd and 4:th generation. Download of the iOS 4.3 will solve the iOS 4.2.1 concern in these iPhone and iPod units.

In the case of Apple iPhone the interface used in the IAM will work with iPhone as long as Apple keeps the same protocol implementation as for iPods. The IAM design is however not certified for iPhone use.
