Parking assistance, rear
INTRODUCTION
- Read through all of the instructions before starting installation.
- Notifications and warning texts are for your safety and to minimize the risk of something breaking during installation.
- Ensure that all tools stated in the instructions are available before starting installation.
- Certain steps in the instructions are only presented in the form of images. Explanatory text is also given for more complicated steps.
- In the event of any problems with the instructions or the accessory, contact your local Volvo dealer.
Parking assistance, rear
- Clean the sensors. Use: Isopropanol
- Allow to dry.
- Carefully mat down the surface. Use Glass paper, grade P1000.
- Clean the sensors again. Use: Isopropanol
- Allow to dry.
- Avoid contact with the cleaned surfaces.
Caution! Protect the connections' contact surfaces against paint.
- Paint the sensors in the same colour code as the vehicle.
- Use Volvo Touch-up paint. (Only use base coat.)
- Use: Volvo 2-K Varnish. P/N: 31335447
Note! Also read the instructions on the spray can.
Caution! The paint must have dried after the first application.
- Set the ignition key to position 0.
Note! Wait at least one minute before unplugging the connectors or removing other electrical equipment.
- Fold back the mat.
1. Remove the cable harness clips.
2. Unplug the connector.

- Release the shift-lock function.

- Reinstall the detached components in reverse order.
- Remove the side cushion by first pulling it backwards at the upper edge until the hook (1) releases. Then pull the side cushion inwards slightly until the hook (2) releases, and upwards until the locating pin (3) disengages from the mounting at the rear edge.
- Detach the C-pillar panel at the lower edge by prying out the lower edge until the two clips release. Angle out the lower edge of the panels and then unhook the upper edge.
- Remove the headlining panel by first pulling the rear edge downward so that the four clips release. Then unhook the front edge.
- Remove the smaller headlining panel by pulling it laterally so that the two hooks release. Then unhook the front edge of the panel.
- Use: 9995919 Hook. Insert into the holes on the upper edge of the cover. Turn the tool and pull off the cover.
- Remove the loading eyelet screws. Tightening torque M8 screws: 24 Nm (17.7 lbf.ft).
- Slacken off the two screws in the sill panel.
- Remove the sill panel by pulling it straight up so that the six clips release.
- Remove the screw.
- Remove the side panel by detaching and angling out the upper edge.
- Also carried out on the other side.

Caution! Place the bumper cover on a suitable surface.
- The cable harness will not be used again.
- Locate the two markings at the upper edge of the bumper cover.
- Mark the centre, use a scriber.

2. - 10 mm (25/64")
- Use: 9997234 Hole tool
Caution! Place the hole tool's support sleeve on the inside, and the cutting part on the outside of the bumper casing.
- Locate the two markings at the lower edge of the bumper cover.
- Mark the centre, use a scriber.
- Extend the marking's vertical line using a scriber. This is to be used as a reference line for punching holes.

Caution! Drill horizontally through the bumper cover.
- Use: 9997367 Hole tool
- Ensure that the markings, 1 and 2, are opposite each other when making holes.
Caution! Place the hole tool's support sleeve on the inside, and the cutting part on the outside of the bumper casing.
