Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information BCM-U210700
Condition
The control modules in the vehicle send and receive information continuously on the vehicle's controller area network (CAN). The Brake control module (BCM) receives the request from the Forward Sensing Module (FSM) to activate the brake function.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that:
- Forward Sensing Module (FSM) requests braking too often or for too long.
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:
- Ignition on.
Note! The control module can only detect the fault once the test has been started and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored when the conditions are met.
Substitute value
- None.
Hint: Brake system, abbreviations Brake System, Abbreviations
Possible source
- Damaged Forward Sensing Module (FSM).
Note! This diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is not due to an internal hardware fault in the Brake control module (BCM) and must not be remedied by replacing the control module.
Fault symptom[s]
- Brake pedal/Excessive "brake pedal effort" required
