Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information BCM-U042868
Condition
The control modules in the vehicle send and receive information continuously on the vehicle's controller area network (CAN). If a control module registers a fault, the control module can then transmit a signal informing that its information cannot be trusted.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects:
- The signal that informs that the information from the Steering wheel angle sensor module (SAS) is incorrect.
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:
- Ignition switch position II.
Note! The control module can only detect the fault once the test has been started and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored when the conditions are met.
Substitute value
- Stability control (SC) blocked.
- Traction control (TC) blocked.
- Active yaw control (AYC) is blocked.
Hint: Brake system, abbreviations Brake System, Abbreviations
Possible source
- Fault-trace the Steering wheel angle sensor module (SAS).
Note! This diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is not due to an internal hardware fault in the Brake control module (BCM) and must not be remedied by replacing the control module.
