Fault-tracing

Checking the component
Check voltage feed and ground connection for Power seat module (PSM) by trying to check the seat's settings manually.





Was a fault detected?

Yes - Checking the voltage and ground terminal

No - Checking CAN cables

Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.








- Ignition off
- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
- Switch on the ignition for at least 10 seconds.
Try communicating with the control module by selecting one of the functions for vehicle communication under the Diagnostic tab.

Is communication established?

Yes - VERIFIED

No - VERIFICATION FAILED

The fault should have been detected and remedied. As this is not the case fault-tracing has failed.
Exit fault-tracing for this diagnostic trouble code (DTC) or make another attempt.

Checking the voltage and ground terminal
Check that the fuse for Power seat module (PSM) on the rear relay and fuse box is intact.
Check the cable for voltage feed between rear relay and fuse box and Power seat module (PSM) for open circuit or short-circuiting to ground.
Check the ground cable for open circuit or short-circuiting to voltage. Also check the ground terminal. Check for contact resistance and oxidation.
