Condition




The gear selector module (GSM) is located at the rear edge of the gear shift assembly's left side. The Gear selector module (GSM) communicates with the Transmission control module (TCM) via an internal network, Local Interconnect Network (LIN), to activate the shift-lock function among other things. This can mean that the gear lever can be moved without the brake pedal being applied.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that:
- The solenoid's driver stage is active when it should be inactive.
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:
- Ignition on.

Note! The control module can only detect the fault once the test has been started and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored when the conditions are met.

Substitute value
- No blocking of the gear selector.

Possible source
- Short-circuit to ground in the signal cable.
- Internal fault in gear selector module (GSM).
