Checking components and wiring




- Ignition off
Check the auxiliaries belt and belt tensioner for damage.
Check the function of the alternator freewheel. A fault-free freewheel pulls around the alternator rotor shaft in one direction but not the other.

Hint: The function of the alternator can be checked by performing Quick test of the alternator function. If the diagnostic trouble code recurs after operation, try a new alternator.

Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.








- Ignition off
- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
- Start the engine.
- Read off the battery voltage.
- Load the battery by switching on several power consumers with a high power consumption, for example, the blower, main beam, etc.
Read off the battery voltage by clicking on the symbol for VCT2000.
Check that the battery voltage is correct, battery voltage shall be approx. 13-14 V. Test at different engine speeds.
