Fault-tracing

Checking the wiring and terminals








- Ignition off, wait for 15 seconds.
- Disconnect the connector from the front passenger airbag switch.
- Disconnect the connector for Supplemental restraint system module (SRS).
Check connectors for damage to pins and connections.
Check the connectors. Check for loose connections. Check for contact resistance. Check for oxidation.
Also check the other connectors and terminals that join the cables between the supplemental restraint system module (SRS) and the switch.
Check the cable. Check for an open-circuit. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage.
Take readings between:
- Supplemental restraint system module (SRS) terminal #C2:60(#A35) and the connector for front passenger airbag switch terminal #2.
- Supplemental restraint system module (SRS) terminal #C2:61(#A36) and the connector for front passenger airbag switch terminal #5.
Remedy as necessary.

Hint: After carrying out the repair check that the fault has been remedied.




- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
- Switch on the ignition. Wait 10 seconds.
Read diagnostic trouble codes by clicking the VCT2000 symbol.
If the fault is intermittent, the fault has been remedied.
