Checking loudspeaker element

Fault-tracing

Note! This fault tracing only applies to vehicles with Premium Sound audio equipment.

To determine whether a loudspeaker element works or not, it is appropriate to activate a test sequence that sends sent frequencies to all loudspeakers. The Audio module (AUD) can detect a defective loudspeaker element after the test sequence.
Carry out as follows to check the loudspeaker elements:

Note! The test sequence consists of high tones. Therefore, do not go near the speakers during the test.

- Press the symbol for VCT2000 in order to start the test sequence.
- Read off the result.

Fault-tracing information
Use the following information and general checks during fault-tracing.

Note! Check that the fuses are intact. For locations, see the instruction manual, cover for fuse box, fuse ratings or similar.

1. Check, if possible, relevant functions in the vehicle using buttons/controls/test drives to determine the status of the fault.

Note! If the vehicle does not show any of the given symptoms in the diagnostic trouble code information (DTC), this may mean that the fault is intermittent or that the control module is not detecting the fault at this moment.

2. Use the diagnostic trouble code's frozen values, status identifiers and counter to determine the operating conditions when the fault was detected, the fault's current status and any degree of intermittence of the fault.

- Description of status identifier Description of Status Identifier
- Description of counter Description of Counter
