Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information CEM-B11DB87

Condition
The central electronic module (CEM) monitors the battery monitoring module (BMS) and its associated functionality. The battery monitoring sensor's (BMS) main function is to monitor the battery' status. The sensor measures and calculates information about battery voltage, current (in or out from battery), calculated battery capacity, the vehicle's standby current consumption, and battery temperature. This information is sent to the central electronic module (CEM) which then calculates how the alternator shall be controlled for optimal battery charging.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that:
- No communication with the battery monitoring module (BMS).
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:
- Engine running.

Substitute value
- None.

Possible source
- Open circuit on LIN-connection between central electronic module (CEM) and battery monitoring module (BMS).
- Damaged battery monitoring sensor (BMS).
