Fault-Tracing Information

Fault-tracing

Checking the wiring and terminals

- Ignition off, wait for 15 seconds.
- Disconnect the connector from the front passenger seat belt buckle.
- Disconnect the connector for Supplemental restraint system module (SRS).

Hint: Check if other diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), with the same type of fault, are stored in the supplemental restraint system module (SRS).
The fault is due to a short-circuit to another circuit in the SRS (supplemental restraint system).

Check connectors for damage to pins and connections.
Also check the other connectors and terminals that join the cables between the supplemental restraint system module (SRS) and the seat belt buckle.

Note! The connector to the components in the other circuit must be disconnected before a reading is taken.

Check the cable for a short-circuit to another circuit. The resistance reading should read infinite resistance.
Take readings between:
- The connector to the front passenger seat belt buckle terminal #1 and all terminals in the connector to the other component.
- The connector to the front passenger seat belt buckle terminal #2 and all terminals in the connector to the other component.
Remedy as necessary.
