Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information ECM-P080700
Condition
Engine control module (ECM) monitors the clutch pedal's movement and position using a position sensor (1) and a position switch (2). The position sensor is connected to the Central electronic module (CEM) and information is sent to the Engine control module (ECM) via CAN. The position switch is directly connected to Engine control module (ECM) and is open (clutch pedal let up) in its starting position. When the clutch pedal is pressed down by more than 75%, the contact closes.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that:
- The clutch pedal position sensor indicates that the clutch pedal has been depressed for a certain amount of time, without the position switch being closed (active).
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:
- Constant vehicle speed.
Note! The control module can only detect the fault once the test has been started and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored when the conditions are met.
Substitute value
- None.
Possible source
- Incorrectly installed/adjusted position sensor.
- Contact resistance, oxidation or loose connections in the connector.
- Incorrect position sensor.
Fault symptom[s]
- Starting/Autostart does not work
- Cruise control/Disengagement does not work
