Condition
The Engine control module (ECM) monitors the information that comes from other control modules. The engine cooling fan control module continually informs about its status. The engine cooling fan control module informs that an internal fault has been discovered in the control module. The information is used by the Engine control module (ECM) to control the engine cooling fan (FC) speed and to switch the fan off and on.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that:
- No message from the engine cooling fan.
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:
- Engine running.
