DESCRIPTION:
On some All Wheel Drive (AWD) variants, the current version of VIDA at the time of the creation of this TJ is missing a step in the prop shaft removal and installation method for an AWD P3* vehicle.
Skipping this step and incorrectly installing the prop shaft bearing support brackets could result in a driveline vibration upon acceleration.
*AWD P3 = 2007- S80, 2008- XC70, 2010- XC60, 2011- S60
PRODUCT MODIFICATION:
The procedure will be updated in VIDA 2013B.
SERVICE:
When following the prop shaft removal and installation method in VIDA, the photograph in the attachment should be used as a reference for all AWD P3 prop shaft removal and installation. The illustration may vary but the theory is the same. Note the orientation of the prop shaft bearing support brackets before removal. There are differently shaped holes on the brackets so that the correct orientation can easily be seen.
